Erin K. Barnett

Erin Kays Barnett is a Partner at Barnett Woolums, P.A. and a highly experienced Family Law Attorney and Criminal Defense Lawyer in St. Petersburg, Florida. Licensed to practice law in Florida since 2002, Erin brings more than 23 years of courtroom and trial experience, including her background as a former Assistant State Attorney in the 6th Judicial Circuit.

As a former Pinellas County prosecutor and lead trial attorney, Erin handled complex cases across DUI Manslaughter, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, Adult Felony, Adult Misdemeanor, and Traffic Court divisions. Her prosecutorial experience gives her a strategic edge in criminal defense, family law litigation, domestic violence matters, and dependency cases.

Erin’s practice focuses on divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, dependency law, domestic violence, criminal defense, DUI, and high conflict family law disputes. She earned her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Political Science from Florida Southern College. Erin has also served as an Adjunct Professor at St. Petersburg College’s Police and Corrections Academy and has acted as an Attorney Ad Litem for Children with Special Needs in Dependency Cases since 2014. Additionally, Erin is a Florida Supreme Court certified mediator.
